Mobile: often a lower purchase price, with less permanent building work. Surface mounting can avoid excavation and floor reinstatement, helping keep the overall project cost down.
In-ground: allow for the equipment, excavation, drainage and floor reinstatement. A permanent installation may suit an established test lane, but the groundwork adds to the project.

Plan the test area around your vehicles and the way your workshop operates.
Mobile brake tester
Surface-mounted on a suitable prepared site, with less disruption from excavation. Allow room for ramps, vehicle approach and safe manoeuvring. Confirm the surface and power requirements.
In-ground brake tester
A permanent installation planned around the floor, drainage and test lane. It can suit a dedicated workshop layout, but installation involves building work and relocation is more involved.
03 Everyday use & flexibility
Choose a setup that works for today—and can adapt as your business changes.
Mobile: relocate the tester when your workshop layout or premises change. If you move it regularly, plan safe handling, transport and storage.
In-ground: keep a dedicated lane ready for regular vehicle throughput. The trade-off is a fixed location that takes more work to change.
