Mobile Brake Tester Installation Guide
Prepare your premises for on-site brake testing.
A surface-mounted BM20200 can avoid the pit and extensive civil works of a conventional in-ground tester. Good site planning still matters.
Start with your fleet, the available space and your electrical supply. Confirm the exact requirements for your chosen configuration before arranging site work.

01 Space and vehicle access
Plan the whole test lane, not just the roller bed.
Allow for the ramps, a straight approach and departure, your longest vehicles and any trailer combinations. Check door openings, turning space and overhead clearance.
Keep pedestrians, other workshop jobs and parked vehicles clear of the operating area. Plan safe access to controls and emergency stops.
Ask ACP for the layout drawing for the exact roller width, ramp arrangement and accessories you are considering.
02 Surface and power supply
Agree the installation position before arranging electrical or site work.
Ask ACP to assess the surface, support, stability and drainage for your chosen configuration and axle loads. Do not assume that any spare area of yard is ready for testing.
Confirm the required supply, protective devices, connector and cable route from the machine specification. Electrical requirements vary with the motor and configuration; have a competent electrician check the proposed installation.
For outdoor use, agree suitable arrangements for equipment protection, lighting and safe working in poor weather.
03 Delivery, commissioning and training
Agree who is responsible for each part of the installation.
Confirm delivery access, unloading and handling arrangements, the prepared test area and completion of electrical work before the installation date.
Commissioning should establish that the equipment is correctly set up and ready for its intended use. Arrange operator training covering safe positioning, test operation, report handling and routine checks.
Keep the operating instructions and calibration records accessible. Discuss any plans for relocation or frequent movement so handling and storage arrangements can be included.
04 Your pre-installation checklist
Send ACP photos or a simple plan of the proposed position, the available length and width, doorway dimensions and details of the surface and power supply.
Include your vehicle types, axle loads, wheel configurations and expected testing workload. Mention trailers, low-clearance vehicles and any load simulation or other accessories required.
Ask for a written scope covering equipment, site preparation, electrical work, delivery, commissioning, training and ongoing support. Identify any items your own contractors must provide.
